Believe in the Power of Possibility: My Story of Resilience

Are you worrying about achieving your goals? Let me tell you something—worry is just wasted energy. What if you took all that energy you’re using to stress and turn it into belief? Yes, belief. Belief in yourself, in your dreams, and in the life you’re capable of creating. Stop sitting back, waiting for a sign, waiting for someone to tell you what to do, or waiting for the perfect moment to appear. The truth is, the perfect moment is now.

You need to own your life. Never let anyone or anything pull you away from your hustle or dim the light of your dreams. I know this because I’ve been there.

Let me take you back to a time when life felt like an uphill battle. A long time ago, I was a single mom with three little kids under the age of five. Life was chaotic, overwhelming, and uncertain. But one thing I knew for sure: I was going to create a better future for my family. No one was going to hand me a roadmap or pave the way for me. I had to decide—no, commit—to being the one who would support my children and build a life we could be proud of.

I made the bold decision to go back to school and pursue my Master’s degree as an Advanced Practice Nurse Midwife/Nurse Practitioner. It wasn’t going to be easy—it would take seven years of relentless hustle, sacrifice, and grit. I didn’t have a clear path forward or any guarantees of success. But I started with what I had: a simple plan and an unshakable determination.

I began with one class on Saturdays while still breastfeeding my youngest child. One class! That was my starting point. It wasn’t glamorous or grandiose, but it was a step forward—and that’s all that mattered.

Ignore the Naysayers

Here’s something I learned along the way: other people’s opinions are none of your business. Don’t waste your precious energy worrying about what others think of your dreams, your goals, your hustle—or even your struggles. If I had listened to the doubts and criticisms of others (and yes, even family members who couldn’t see my vision), I would have been paralyzed by fear and self-doubt.

Instead, I choose faith over fear. I visualized myself achieving my goals—helping families bring their babies into the world, teaching nutrition, and changing lives for the better. I didn’t live in the world of impossibility that others tried to box me into; I created my own world of possibility by believing in what I couldn’t yet see.

Fueled by Faith and Gratitude

Prayer nourished me when life felt heavy. Gratitude optimized my mindset when challenges seemed insurmountable. Every day, I showed up for myself and my family with faith that success was not just possible—it was inevitable if I stayed consistent and committed.

My pace powered me forward; my routine kept me grounded and focused on what mattered most. Did I have moments of doubt? Of course! But those moments didn’t define me—I refused to let them stop me.

The Power of Achieving Your Dreams

Since my dream became a reality, I have changed the financial future of my family. We no longer lived in uncertainty; instead, we thrived with stability and security. But more than that, I have impacted the lives of many people. I’ve had the privilege of helping families welcome their babies into the world, teaching them about nutrition, and empowering them to live healthier lives.

And it doesn’t stop there. I continue to learn and grow as a healthcare provider, always seeking ways to improve and expand my impact. I believe in giving back, not just to my community but to the next generation of leaders and dreamers. Until I pass the torch, I will keep striving, learning, and inspiring others to do the same.

You Have What It Takes

Here’s what I want you to know: you don’t have to be all things to all people; you just need to be the best version of yourself in this moment—and every moment after that. If you have a dream burning inside you, dig deep because you already have the resilience needed to accomplish anything.

Don’t settle for less than what you deserve simply because the road looks hard or uncertain right now. You are capable of more than you can imagine—but first, you have to believe it for yourself.

The Impossible Is Possible

How could a single mom of three—with no car and no job—ever go to a private college and earn a Master’s degree? By all accounts, it seemed impossible in this world we live in. But in the world of possibility—the world where faith meets action—it became my reality.

I lived as though I had already accomplished my goals long before they materialized. And guess what? The opportunities came because I showed up with unwavering belief and determination.

Your Turn

So here’s my challenge for you: Stop worrying about how it will happen or whether it’s even possible. Start believing that it will happen because you are capable of making it so. Live above doubt; look up instead of looking back.

Every day is another chapter in your story—make it count! Be fueled by faith, powered by gratitude, and driven by purpose. The world needs your best self; don’t hold back because it feels hard or uncertain.

You deserve greatness—and greatness is within your reach if you’re willing to go after it with everything you’ve got.

Be of good cheer—you’ve got this! 😉
